THE FOOD: Pork Roast Recipes

Chile Verde
1.5 lbs pork roast (diced into small pieces)
1 cup flour, seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder
2 large cans diced green chiles
1 cup water or chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder

On medium high, brown diced pork in seasoned flour. Add green chiles and garlic powder. Add water or broth and simmer for 30 minutes until thick like stew. Serve with tortillas to make burritos, or over rice. Add grated cheese, salsa, sour cream and enjoy!


Pork Roast w/Potatoes & Onions
1.5 lbs boneless pork roast
1 large garlic clove, slivered
3 potatoes, cubed
1 large onion sliced
1/2 cup broth, tomato juice, or water
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp cold water

Make slits in roast and insert slivers of garlic. Put under broiler to brown. Put potatoes and half the onions in slow cooker. Place browned roast on onions and potatoes. Cover with remaining onions. Combine broth and soy sauce. Pour over roast. Cover. Cook on Low 8 hours. Remove roast and vegetables from liquid. Combine cornstarch and water. Add to liquid in slow cooker. Turn to high until thickened. Serve over sliced meat and vegetables.
