In 1996, the building on the southeast corner of 14th West & Indiana Avenue (840 south) was aquired by Crossroads Urban Center for a new Thrift Store which opened in that location in December of the year. On August 20, 1997 the building was dedidicated as the Virginia B. Parmalee Community Center in the memory of the long time volunteer operator of store.
